How to track your shipment to Saudi Arabia
Every shipment is trackable with the right number: sea containers — enter the container or bill of lading number on the carrier's site (Maersk, MSC, COSCO, CMA CGM…); air cargo — the 11-digit AWB number on the airline's cargo tracker; courier parcels — the courier's own tracking number; customs status — visible in FASAH once the declaration is filed. If you only have a supplier's invoice, ask them for the B/L or AWB — that is the key to everything.
Which number tracks what?
- Container number (4 letters + 7 digits, e.g. MSKU1234567): live position on the shipping line's tracker
- Bill of lading (B/L) number: the whole consignment on the carrier or forwarder site
- Air waybill (AWB) (e.g. 065-12345675): airline cargo tracking, airport-to-airport
- Courier number: door-to-door parcel tracking on the courier's site or app
- Booking number: works before the B/L is issued
How do I see the customs status of my shipment?
Once the vessel arrives and the declaration is filed, the shipment gets a status in FASAH (the Saudi single-window platform): declaration submitted, under review, inspection, duty payment due, released. Importers with their own FASAH account see it directly; clients of a broker get it from the broker. Why has my shipment stopped moving?
The three usual reasons, in order of frequency: waiting on documents (SABER certificate, delivery order not collected), customs review or inspection (adds 1–2 days), and port congestion in peak seasons. A tracker shows where the box is; only the party clearing it knows why it is waiting — which is the practical argument for one company handling both freight and clearance.

My supplier gave me no tracking number — what now?
