Yes. By sea, lithium batteries move relatively freely under IMDG rules (UN3480/3481 with certified packaging and DG declaration). By air, strict IATA limits apply — often cargo-aircraft-only with state-of-charge restrictions. Devices with installed batteries are the easiest case.
Undeclared batteries inside "ordinary" electronics are the classic booking-killer, discovered at origin screening. Check the MSDS and declare upfront.
