What is a telex release?

A telex release means the original bill of lading was surrendered at the origin port, so the destination office releases cargo electronically — no couriered originals needed. It is standard practice for trusted supplier relationships and saves days versus shipping paper originals.

Until payment is settled, keep control through original B/Ls; switch to telex once the relationship is proven.
